Background

EADA was established in 1983 as the independent body representing professionals and academia in the field of dredging within the Asia Pacific area. Founding members include Mr. Marangin Simatupang (Indonesia), Mr. John Dobson (Australia) and Capt. Abraham Kuruvilla (India). EADA is a member of the World Organisation of Dredging Associations (WODA). Sister organizations of WODA include CEDA (representing Europe and Africa) and WEDA (representing Americas).

EADA National Sections have been established in India and China known as EADA (India) and China Dredging Association (CHIDA) respectively.
